The name PAPERSHAKER  is based on the slang term used for cheerleaders or‘pom-pom’ girls in the 50s. Designer, Zaheda G. Wadan, believes this sums up her range of silk and cotton dresses - confident and sexy. Incorporating Zaheda's Afghan heritage into the designs, the label becomes a nexus between the two worlds of Afghan culture and 1950's vintage fashion.  

 

Polli was born from their strong interests in sustainable design, craft culture and fashion. The folding methods used in this family of products are influenced by both Japanese and Danish paper designs, and the materials chosen allow them to express their interest in colour and light.
 

Rebecca Ward is a Brisbane based contemporary jeweller.  Her work incorporates precious metals alongside recycled materials such as old window and bottle glass, computer keys and vinyl records and found objects such as  pebbles.  With themes exploring landscape and journeys, her works arrest the viewer with a combination of serene beauty and wry insight.


 

Since starting her eponymous label just over two years ago, Rochelle Stone has garnered a strong response from local press and designers. Following from her stand at The Source MAFW Melbourne October 2005, Rochelle was chosen as the jewellery sponsor for both the Joveeba and Hallican Boodie parades at MAFW Sydney the following year.
