This sturdy bookmark is approx. 21cm x 6cm and a few millimetres thick. There are no sharp edges or protruding embellishments which could damage your precious books.
It is made from 100% post-consumer waste recycled card, covered and decoratred with handmade elephant dung paper. The tassel is made of various lengths of knitting wool and other fibre scraps.
The company which makes the elephant dung paper donates a share of its profits to an elephant sanctuary in Kegalle, Sri Lanka, so by purchasing this item, you are not only supporting the environment, but also helping to secure the future for Sri Lanka's magnificent elephants.
Please note: due to quarantine restrictions I am unable to ship this item to New Zealand.
I also sell my work at markets and elsewhere online, so if this specific item has sold by the time you order, I will create another one for you. There may be slight differences between the one you receive and the one pictured here, as no two pieces of handmade paper are exactly alike and I use whatever fibres I have at the time. But please be assured that any difference will be small, and the overall design, colour and quality will be the same.
