Meet Blue! She is a hand-made, one-of-a-kind polymer clay art doll by artist Vanessa Witschi, and is available for adoption. She is the ninth in a collection of Sea Cave Mermaids I am making. Sea Cave mermaids dive deep into the ocean and find crystals that can only be found in underwater sea caves. They are attracted to crystals that are the same colour as their tail. Blue comes attached to the Blue Calcite crystal she found.

Blue started part of her life in a mold. Her head and torso were created using a mould but her arms, hands, ears and tail were individually sculpted. She was then was shaped into position and her features individualised before she was painted. The top level of her tail was created, and her hair put on before she was decorated. Blue took 6 hours to make!

Blue is 14cms long and she is an art doll - she is delicate and would not withstand being played with by children, but would make a beautiful room decoration for a little girl - or a big girl!

Blue comes with her Certificate of Authenticity and her own unique Mermaid ID Number! She will be beautifully presented in a black matte gift box (new) using shredded cellophane, material and bubblewrap (recycled where possible) and then into a postage box (new to maximise strength) to ensure safe posting. Unfortunately due to the new security surcharge introduced by America, if the package exceeds 16oz in weight, packages to the US will attract an additional $9 postage charge, on top of the International postage rate. As a guide, most single mermaids with a shell, in their gift box and packaging don't exceed this limit. Blue won't either.
