This eco-friendly notebox is approx. 11.5cm x 10.5cm x 4.5cm in size, and was created using handmade paper made from 80% elephant dung and 20% rice paddy stubble / post-consumer waste paper.
The basic boxes are made in Sri Lanka, by a company that is both environmentally and socially responsible, and helps to fund the Millenium Elephant Foundation, which is affiliated with the WSPCA and runs an elephant sanctuary in Kegalle, Sri Lanka.
The box contains 100 sheets of creamy-white handmade elephant dung paper, which has a wonderfully soft and unique texture.
The cover for the flip-top lid has been designed and created by me in my home studio here in Australia using various handmade papers. The flowers are printed onto the handmade paper and then hand-cut, before being adhered to the box using low-VOC-content, eco-friendly adhesive. The stitching is done with 100% cotton thread.
Please note: due to quarantine restrictions I am unable to ship this item to New Zealand.
This item is made to order. There may be slight differences between the one you receive and the one pictured here, as no two pieces of handmade paper are exactly alike, and the flowers are hand-cut. But please be assured that any difference will be small, and the overall design, colour and quality will be the same.
