A fresh, tasty little green pear hat for your little one!

This sweet hat has been knitted by hand using the softest certified organic merino yarn from sheep grown in New Zealand’s pristine South Island high country. The yarn has been carefully hand dyed, with the resulting subtle variations in saturation giving the hat a lovely sense of movement. The roll brim allows for adjustments to ensure you get the maximum fit and opportunities for wear, further enhanced by the adjustable tie bow.

The organic merino wool used is unbelievably soft, and completely scratch and itch-free! Merino wool is highly prized for its strength; it is a fibre that retains – and increases – in softness with time and use. Merino has excellent insulating capabilities and is often referred to as the *Wonderwool* as it retains heat in Winter, breathes and cools in Summer and can hold up to 30% of its weight in moisture without feeling wet to the touch.

I have only used non-toxic, heavy metal free and edible dyes and dye fixatives, to miminise the risk of any skin irritation. Great for the environment, and great for sensitive baby's skin!

Sizing: 0-3m - perfect for wearing home from the hospital, and for those important first introductions. In most instances you will find this hat fits for a wider range than specified in the sizing, which hopefully means more opportunities for enjoyment.

Care: gentle hand wash, dry flat. (I have had excellent success using my babies’ shampoo as the wool wash, with the advantage that I can rest assured my little one won’t have a reaction to unknown washing agents!)

I started BahaCoca in 2004 and have been designing, refining, dyeing, knitting and embroidering the ranges ever since. Every hat is designed and knitted by hand, by me, and I sell only those pieces that are perfect. For nearly 8 years, I have been selling the BahaCoca range at craft markets and through retail stores, and am offering them online for the first time. Some of these designs are being phased out or changed, so don't miss out!
