Information on Gold Fill:

Gold Filled sheet is composed of a solid layer of gold bonded with heat and pressure to a base metal such as copper.  The gold fill I use complies with the Federal Trade Commission standards and is 14/20 K, which means 1/20 of the total weight of the piece is 14K gold.  This design was made from double-sided Gold Filled sheet so both sides are bonded with pure 14K gold.  Gold Filled is a much more hard wearing product that Gold Plated, as gold plated items only have a very fine layer of gold which is done using an electro-chemical process, where Gold Filled sheet has had a solid layer of gold which has been bonded onto the base metal.

All my items are now made with 20 gauge sheet.  What does this mean?  Well, all metal sheet/ wire thicknesses are measured using gauges.   The thicker the metal the smaller the gauge, so 20 gauge is thicker than 22 gauge.   Please be sure to check out what gauge other sellers are using to make sure you are getting the most for your money.

Please remember that this is a one of a kind hand stamped piece of jewellery. If there are any slight variances in the letters spacing and depth that is just the character and charm of a hand made item. These discs are individually made from sheet gold fill, stamped one letter at a time, oxidized and polished to a shiny finish.
