Inspired by the cycles of death and life in the dynamic rainforest environment, I created the skeleton leaf design from a leaf I found in the Daintree rainforest.  I then photographed it and altered the photo until it was suitable for exposing onto a silk screen coated with photosynthetic emulsion.  I then exposed the design in the sun, therefore creating the stencil.  This skirt panel was then printed with a series of copper leaves and followed with a futher printing of silver leaves.  The leaf panel was then cut to shape and makes up the front panel of the skirt.  the back panel is plain black and features the birdtribe logo in copper ink.  The skirt is made from cotton drill fabric with a wide, comfy cotton lycra waistband.  A great skirt for summer!!!
