I remember using Hot Water Bottles as a child. They saved my feet from icing over!
Many people use them in bed but I have to say that in winter time I sit them on my lap while I'm on the computer or under my feet on the floor.
So much nicer though when you have a lovely cover rather than feeling the rough rubber of the bottle.
I have left the neck open (sewn at the shoulders) for easier handling. This is how I decided that I ultimately wanted my own. Also I have left the bottom open without any buttons that will touch my toes. The weight of the wool and the tight fit keeps it in place. Thirdly I haven't added any accessories to the body other than embroidery for full comfort.
Pure thick wool was used as it is the Best Insulator!
Hand wash in cool water.
