Rich blue hibiscus flowers are the feature of this handcrafted fashion scarf.

I have hand painted the silk habutai scarf first with blue and turquoise hibiscus  after which I have nuno felted high grade merino wool ( no scratch) and silk onto one side of the scarf . This creates a reversible scarf with a lovely texture on one side and a soft cobweb style of felting on the other.

Added to this is a funky fringe which adds a nice contrasting element.

This is a very versatile scarf which can be worn in a number of different ways. Folded in half it makes a great neck warmer or cowl.

I have dyed the wool and silk in my studio using quality, lightfast dyes

Nuno felting is the art of placing very fine layers of high quality wool and other elements onto a base fabric (usually silk) and then wet felting the layers together to create a new soft as silk and light as a feather art cloth to be fashioned into wearable art.

Hand wash with a mild detergent, lay on a towel to dry then steam press on both sides on a silk setting to freshen. If embellished, the scarf should first be covered with a pressing cloth to protect. Store out of direct sunlight when not in use and this item should continue to enhance your wardrobe for years to come.
