Type of Opal -
This is a lovely Australian crystal opal doublet wire wrapped in Sterling silver wire. A doublet is a thin slice of opal that needs the support of a backing stone, this one is a nice freeform triangle crystal opal glued onto a boulder opal backing. There are violet sparkles within the blue when the light strikes it, really sweet. A very different and beautiful rare gemstone, totally unique and the essence of Australia.
Material - Sterling silver wire.
Size - The finished pendant measures 23 mm long x 18mm wide.
Necklace - 45cm Sterling silver plated chain.
Packing - Your pendant comes in an organza bag and a padded bag for posting, sent securely packed and tracked.
I source my opals from local miners, cut and polish most myself. It's often a messy thing to do requiring a lot of patience and persistence, and a glorious delight to find that colour within a stone. I tend to like the unusual ones, the unique and different that are often overlooked yet bring such beauty. All opals are solid unless otherwise stated.
