A handmade clay lampbase, a whimsical creation that invites you to embrace the magic of dreaming with your eyes closed. Crafted with love, this unique piece features a character painted in a rich dark blue underglaze, expressing the sentiment, "I love you to the moon and back."
This lampbase has a raw matt finish, providing a tactile and organic feel. The absence of glaze accentuates the natural beauty of midfire clay. The character, painted with attention to detail, captures the essence of a dreamy journey with closed eyes, while tiny white dots scattered across the surface represent the twinkling stars that adorn the night sky.
This lampbase is a testament to the meticulous handbuilding process, from shaping the clay to applying underglaze, followed by a precise bisque firing and a subsequent firing to bring out its unique character. The result is a truly one-of-a-kind piece that radiates warmth and charm, adding a touch of whimsy to any space.
All made here in Perth by me in my home studio. Standing 20cm tall and with a 'bowl' head that holds the light bulb.The electrics that are supplied with this piece include the lamp holder, inline switch and Australian plug (all in black) on a fawn hessian electric cable, approx 1.5m long. The inline switch sits approx 50cm from the bulb. The wire was chosen specifically for the lamp and it has been put together and tagged by a qualified technician.
