My history as a craftsperson officially began in 2004. I had my first son, and I began to notice toys and products made for babies and children. I thought to myself “I can make that”. But I did not know how to sew at all then.
Fast-tracked to a couple of years later, my husband bought me my first sewing machine as a birthday present. I only took it out of the box a year later. I made a couple of little felt bags as presents for my nieces. They were well received. My good friend gave me some quilting off-cuts that were too pretty to discard. I made them into fabric bows (which is now one of my signature products).
I searched the Internet for sewing tutorials. I watched “How to sew” videos on YouTube. I have unpicked a million seams. I taught myself to sew and I get so much enjoyment out of making an item that is beautiful and useful, or maybe just purely whimsical.
I am continously developing new products and expanding my product range. I list my favourite products online and sell a very varied range at the Arts Centre Melbourne Sunday Markets. Come and drop by between 10am - 4pm, every Sunday.
(I will be on holiday from mid June till end July, so I won't be at the Arts Centre Market during that period).
