My name is Monique and I live in Sydney, Australia with my husband and my beautiful little girl and gorgeous baby boy.
I started sewing a few years ago when my daughter was a baby as I thought it was time to pull out the sewing machine my mother had given me and start making clothes for my little girl and myself. Well, it soon became apparent that there were only so many clothes I could make for her, so I decided I would start making things to sell.
I started making a few iPad bags and covers as I wanted one for myself and liked the idea of doing it myself. However, as I find making children’s clothing very satisfying (read: quicker to do and therefore, almost instantly gratifying as when I start something I want to finish it ‘now’), I went on to make clothes for babies, toddlers and children.
I have to admit that I have grown an addiction to all the beautiful designer fabrics out there. Some of my favourite manufacturers/designers are Michael Miller, Robert Kaufman, Riley Blake and Amy Butler. I find that no sooner have I received one of my orders, I am already looking at what I will order next! This fabric addiction means I always like to get as many different fabrics as possible so I only order small amounts of each fabric, which will make one outfit. Occasionally I have enough left over to make something else but 99% of the time it’s something different unless I receive a request to make something the same. Therefore, when you buy something from my shop, you will be buying something that is one of a kind, which I think is always a nice thing.
As a full time Mum I don’t have a lot of time to sew but I try to get behind the sewing machine as much as I can at night after the kiddies are in bed.
