Hi ,My name is Lisa Wong-Kam and I am a jewellery artist living in Hervey Bay in beautiful Queensland. In my search for a creative outlet in my life I discovered the unique and beautiful art of fused glass jewellery. It has become my obsession and a wonderful part of my life.
I mainly use dichroic glass, which is fused with many layers of metal oxides , giving it a vibrant glowing finish. Dichroic glass was first developed by NASA in the late 1950's and was used in satellites and space suits, believe it or not. Im sure they never imagined it to be worn as beautiful jewellery.
Each of my designs is handcut and carefully pieced together before going through several firing processes in my kiln. Once fired it is then transformed into a one-of-a-kind jewellery piece. Some pieces are further embellished with enamel tattoos or hand etched. I love experimenting with other materials and components in my jewellery designs , so you will always find something different turning up in my little store.
