I ran away from Sydney in 1994 for a dreamy life in the country and despite a globe trotting career in marketing I'd always wanted a small scale rural based business of my own. With my husband and 3 little boys, our slice of heaven appeared in the shape of a 10 acre olive farm just outside the tiny town of Boddington, Western Australia where we now live.

My "New Vintage Homewares" range was born around 2003 whilst pregnant with my first child and rennovating our dilapidated 100 year old weather board cottage in Perth. With "champagne taste" but on a "beer budget" I was inspired by the original creative work of Rachel Ashwell (Shaby Chic) and began sewing my own home furnishings to feature alongside the elegant interior design / renovation we were creating out of that run down old cottage. I was captivated with how a simple textile can transform a space, adding warmth, atmosphere and a richness even in the most basic of settings.

My simple creations turned into a business after we moved to our Boddington olive farm. In Feb 2010 I took my original textile products; gardening gloves and cushions to sell at my local country markets. Soon after I found outlets as well as on-line opportunities to distribute. Textiles are my first creative love and continue to be the anchor product in my now busy little "Cottage Industry" enterprise which has expanded to include gourmet produce.
