These pieces have been made in honour of this earth and all the creatures and plants it is blessed with. The act of creating in honour and love is a magic, an energy that heals and inspires. The pieces I create are a symbol of the beauty of our natural world and a reminder of how much it needs our love and care. Whatever I am creating I give it my love, inspiration and careful attention, I in turn receive much joy and healing from the act of creating, it is my intent that joy and healing be shared.
All Joy creations are individually made by hand using no moulds, so each piece is truly unique. The settings are crafted from air-drying clay which allows the use of stones and other materials that cannot be fired, but still retains that earthy terracotta look and feel. They have been sealed with varnish and will withstand a little rain, but should always be taken off before showering or swimming etc. If you do forget and wear it in water, take it off carefully and immediately and place it in a warm dry place undisturbed for 4 to 5 days to minimise damage.
In these settings are the treasures of nature, including; semi precious gems, stones, shells, corals and pearls. The pieces with beaded necklaces are made using professional strength tigertail, and the metal beads, catches and other findings including earring hooks, are all either sterling silver or jewellery quality steel. The genuine leather straps are strong and colourfast, I am happy to swap these for a non animal alternative if you wish, please let me know at the time of purchase.
