Hello and welcome to my shop.
My name is Marjon Scheffer. I’m a jewellery designer maker, a goldsmith by trade, but I love to work with other materials than gold. Mostly I work with Titanium and Niobium in combination with gems, because I love to play around with colours.
The love for colours got me interested in Titanium in the first place. This material can be coloured by oxidizing (heated with a flame) or by anodizing (through an electrolytic process). Both processes make the outer layer thicker and the colours created by it are permanent. Recently I have been playing around with anodized Aluminum and Niobium. Both materials have been coloured through a similar process as Titanium, but have a different variety in colours.
The great advantage of working with Titanium and Niobium is not only being able to work with colours, but they’re also Hypoallergic materials. Nowadays more and more people have metal allergies. By working with these materials I able to make a huge range of jewellery that is wearable by everybody.
