Hello and thank you for visiting my store.

A N A K  ~  an´ak

Noun. Orig: Phillippines from old-malay tongue

anak, meaning child. In Tagalog (Filipino), refers to ones child, son or daughter. Used as a term of endearment to a young child

·ipanganak (ipang-) v. to be born

Anak is exactly what my mother used to call me as a child, and continues to do so to this very day. Anak Designs was born out of a love for the handmade, and each piece I create, I make with my children in mind.  I am inspired by being a mother to him and Perry Pony was our first creation. Having grown up with horses all my life, it seemed only natural for my first handmade toy be a pony for him. As he grows and his interests change and develop, my imagination grows with him and the world around us.

I create my wares with him in my heart, and aim to make useful, practical, cheerful & loveable keepsakes that are fun for now and something to treasure for later.

I hope that you can see the love that goes into each of these pieces and can think of someone special who will love and treasure them now and for years to come.

It started with a pony…

With myself having grown up around horses, it was only natural that my son was introduced to them at an early age. His love for horses is in his blood and he has a collection of them – big, small, bouncy, soft - including a number of handmade ponies that he lays claim to before I can get them on the site.

Thank you for looking at my wares and taking an interest in

Anak Designs.
