Having a profile image is a super important part of your Madeit Store.
For every Artist and Crafter on the platform there is a space to upload a profile picture. This is not mandatory BUT we highly recommend that you do, you will however need to submit one for your application.
Images will need to square format, 500kb max, jpeg or png.
Keep in mind that this doesn't need to be a standard front facing image, use your creativity to show us you as the Artist.
Why we recommend adding a profile picture
Here is why we suggest that you do add a profile picture if you are accepted to the platform.
- Humans buy from humans! When customers are buying handmade creations they want to buy from the Artist or Crafter directly. Your creations come to life when you connect with your customer in this way.
- We love to share Artists and Crafters in our email that goes out each week to over 20,000 handmade collectors. To be featured we need to be able to share your profile pic.
Get creative with your profile picture
We completely get it, taking images front on can be confronting! And often they don't shine the right light on you. Here are some tips on getting a profile picture that you'll be happy to share;
- Try using a tripod and timer on your phone to capture you creating
- Ask a friend or partner to take the picture
- Try cropping the image to make it interesting
- Try changing the image to black and white
